Two explosions in the tri-state area have left residents fearing the blasts could be related. At 9.30am on Saturday, a pipe bomb exploded shortly before the Semper Five Run at Seaside Park, New Jersey. Around 8.30pm, a suspected IED detonated in the popular neighborhood of Chelsea in Manhattan. No one was injured in the New Jersey explosion and approximately 29 people were hurt after the explosion in Manhattan.

Currently it is not established exactly who is the initiator of the explosion.

In New York, the terrorist attack performers chose the bustling street in the Chelsea neighborhood, where noisy youth companies like to spend time.

Immediately after the incident in New York there was a version in some media that the explosion was of the household nature, but later the statement was refuted.

It is known that not far from the site of the explosion in New York City the police discovered a device that is similar to the explosives. Later, CNN reporters made it clear that the basis of the found bomb was a pressure cooker, which was attached to the mobile phone.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio (in the photo) noted that the explosion, according to him, was not accidental. The politician added that the city authorities weren't informed about potential threats.

In a matter of hours before the explosion in the center of New York City, in New Jersey, the nearest to the Big Apple state, explosion occurred. According to police, an explosive device was powered before the start of the marathon. About 5 thousand runners should have taken participation in it. It was planned that the race will start half an hour earlier, but because of the long marathon registration the start time was postponed.

On Monday, US media reported another explosion in New Jersey. It is known that close to the train station Elizabeth a suspicious backpack was found, an accessory with protruded wires was lying in one of the garbage cans. During the inspections, which were made by a special robot, the backpack exploded.
