Chinese officials are not seeking conflict with the White House. They aim to maintain friendly relations, a sentiment echoed by BRICS nations. According to China's foreign ministry, the alliance has no anti-American agenda.

China's Foreign Ministry assures that the BRICS group of nations is not interested in coming up against the United States and engaging in "block confrontation." The alliance focuses on other goals such as "common development and prosperity," Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian said in response to a question about US President-elect Donald Trump's threat to impose a 100% tariff on imports from countries that support a move away from the dollar.

According to the official, Beijing will continue to work with BRICS partners to deepen pragmatic cooperation across various sectors. "BRICS nations advocate openness and inclusiveness," Lin Jian added.

Last week, Trump posted a warning on his social media platform Truth Social that Washington would impose a crushing 100% import tariff on goods from BRICS nations if they attempted to create a rival currency to the US dollar or abandon the greenback.

Brazil's finance ministry called the Republican's remarks "meaningless and provocative," asserting that once in office, the Republican president would have to take into account the realities of the global economy.

Meanwhile, South African diplomats reminded that BRICS is not focused on creating a currency alternative to the greenback but rather on increasing the share of transactions in national currencies. The country's authorities believe that the global market uproar surrounding the alleged fight against the US dollar is based on distorted facts and misinterpretation of official statements.
